It’s been a couple of days since I posted, which means I failed one of my goals of posting each day.

Anyways – Thursday was great, I ran an UNBROKEN 10k, which felt amazing. I had to wait until 11:30 at night to do so because it was so hot out, but I much prefer night running anyways. My pace was not the best, but I was going for endurance rather than speed.

Friday and Saturday is where I dropped the ball big time. Friday was spent doing laundry, cleaning, and getting ready for my birthday party on Saturday, which meant that I didn’t get to the gym before they closed at 8pm. I was going to go for a run at 11:00 again, but there were lots of drunk people out as I got home (around 10:30), and I didn’t want to be running in the streets with a lot of inebriated people around. These aren’t great excuses. I could have done something at home, I was just exhausted.

Yesterday, I was going to do a 5k in the morning, but by 8 it was already humid and hot. I was finishing up cleaning and preparing stuff for the day. We got back, and had my birthday party, which was a rather bigger failure than not doing the 5k. The pot luck consumption was way over my goal caloric intake, which is the first time that has happened in a long time. I am trying not to be too hard on myself, but it was over by A LOT.

I am still keeping on course, i’m living a lifestyle, overhauling and reconfiguring will be part of that over time.

Tonight, I have to work for a bit from 4 – 6 and I want to try and run later tonight, but I am sunburn and it is hotter than heck out there. Again, these are excuses, but tomorrow I am jumping back on the wagon and carrying forth, no matter what.

Although I am feeling down about this, I think it’s important to write about and talk about, because like I said, it is not just a diet, it’s a new way of living, and life has it’s ups and downs, the good and the bad, and progress has moments of lapse. Despite all of this, things are still going in the right direction.

I always advocate small and achievable goals, sometimes we don’t hit our goals, but we cannot let that deter us from the overarching, larger goals we have. I am still on par for Julyl 19, 179.9, – we’ll see. I haven’t weighed myself in a week – tomorrow is my pre-official weigh-in to see where I am at! That will hopefully motivate me for the 4 following days to do as much as I possibly can.
